Get great sunsets and other photos free

Need some good artwork for your website or flyer? Rich Niewiroski happened to stop at a lake in Arizona at sunset and snapped this beautiful picture to the left. By uploading it to Wikimedia Commons, he is allowing the world to use it at no cost.

We used a great sunset from Wikimedia Commons to design the banner of Great Catholic Homilies, as well as other websites.

Many photographs, graphics, classical paintings and other images are free to use by the public and are available at this site. Some artists ask that you give them credit, and this is specified on the website. But many of them, like Rich, do not ask for attribution. For all these great images, go to Wikimedia Commons.

If you can’t find the photos you want on this site, you can buy images cheaply at Istockphoto. Photographs run around $2 each, and this is about the cheapest you’ll find on the internet. Istockphoto also has vector graphics, and now video and audio clips.
