Grow your business with bread crumbs
Marketing is like bread crumbs. You put them out to find prospects, and then turn them into customers or clients. Like a hungry squirrel, your prospect must nibble on one bread crumb, move forward, and nibble on the next. The first bread crumb could be your initial pay-per-click ad, blog post, or handshake with someone you met at the chamber of commerce meeting last night.
The other bread crumbs are the follow-up. It could be an ad landing page. Or the email that you sent to someone who found your website and asked a question. Or the phone call that you made to your new friend that you met three days ago. The breadcrumbs lead right to your door where you make the sale.
Not just any bread crumbs
But they can’t be just any bread crumbs. They have to be the right food for that particular type of squirrel. You have to know your prospect’s needs. You need an attractive-looking breadcrumb, one that smells right to the squirrel. You have to show the squirrel a benefit, such as good taste and health. How this crumb will help him reach his goals. You have to show him a feature, such as how your bread crumb is the refined result of years of testing and experience. And then you can’t have too many breadcrumbs, or too few, too small or too big. It all has to be just right.
Finally, you need a call to action, “Take a bite!”
This is what marketing is all about, and we at TreeFrogClick can find the right squirrels, the right bread crumbs, put a plan into action, and turn it all into sales.
